While Ednovate Virtual Academy launched in 2021, our team has been mastering blended learning since 2012. Whether your student joins us for a single quarter or stays for all four years of high school, they will receive a top-tier online education tailored to their success. We have refined our virtual academy to give your child the very best high school experience possible, keeping learning flexible, engaging, and supportive every step of the way.

What is CORE & What MORE do students have access to?
What is CORE & What MORE do students have access to?
Since EVA enables students to design the learning experience that works best for them, we have organize the model into "Core Experiences" that every student will engage in and "Additional Supports and Experiences," which students will opt into as needed. Read on to learn more about the key parts of the EVA model and how they come together into a powerful week of learning.
(Note: "Additional Supports" may become mandatory when necessary to support student success)
1:1 COACH

Students are paired with a coach who they meet with weekly. These sessions are extremely important because it is how we personalize their education. We make sure to set personal goals with your student and build the habits of success that enables students to thrive at EVA and beyond (finding their passion, time management, asking for help, etc).
LIVE LESSONS
(every morning, @ 9am - 11am)

Students have the privilege to keep their camera off during live lessons if they put a profile picture of themself. Students can lose their camera off privilege if they have a pattern of being off-task.
Students must complete and submit an entrance ticket the first ten minutes of class in order to be marked on time. Failing to do so will result in a tardy.
Students must complete and submit an exit ticket in order to be marked present. Failing to do so will result in an absence.
ADVISORY

This space is designed for students to connect, center themselves for the day, and to nurture the life and wellness skills that are essential for success but often undervalued in school. The time is spent in a mix of whole school gatherings and with a consistent small group of students who serve as the "home base" for the year.

We are honored to maintain a 100% college acceptance rate, with every graduate accepted into a four-year university. 12th graders get assigned work that walks them through applying to college. All grade levels complete projects that enable them to explore passions and possible career paths.

The student government assembly serves EVA by voicing and addressing student opinions and needs, raising funds, supporting and sponsoring programs, activities, and events. The primary goals of Student Government are to create a memorable experience for all students in EVA, to promote unity and spirit, and to grow as student leaders.
STUDY HALL
MON - THURS (most weeks)

At 10am, students have the option to attend study hall in order to connect with subject-matter educators to get targeted support in their coursework. Study hall becomes mandatory if:
Any student's grade fall below a 73% (Failing)
Students complete less than 10 hours per week of schoolwork
Students need to serve a reflection.
DEEP DIVE LESSONS
MON - FRI (every 3 weeks)

Deep dive lessons are mandatory sessions held once every three weeks that focus on critical thinking skills crucial for your academic performance. These sessions account for 50 percent or more of your grade, and you must turn in your live lesson assignment to be marked as present.
TESTING
VARIES (1-3x per quarter)

Assessments are vital for measuring academic growth and ensuring college readiness. State testing is mandatory for all students, including the CAASPP and CAST, and we track continuous progress throughout the year using STAR assessments, school-year Interims, and Lexile and Quantile growth.
DIGITAL COURSEWORK

We leverage Pearson's online courses to cover the primary coursework required for a CA diploma. This online coursework is designed to help students learn independently, at any time of day, with just a computer and an internet connection.
At EVA, we strike a perfect balance between structure and flexibility. Students benefit from the structure of 3 week units with set deadlines, while also having the flexibility to work at their own pace within each unit. We monitor their progress to ensure students dedicate consistent time each week to their studies. Weekly progress reports are sent home, and we inform students and families if there are any concerns about engagement.
If students get stuck or need extra support, they can reach out to their teachers through chat or attend Study Hall.

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING
We prioritize the holistic health of our students, including offering access to a trained specialist who supports social and emotional wellbeing. Students can request access to this support through their 1:1 coach or by filling out an anonymous referral.

FIELD TRIPS
Once a quarter, students come together for an excursion. In addition to creating the opportunity to build community in-person, they are set up to expose students to future possibilities -- college campuses or exciting workplaces.

HOME CAMPUS EVENTS
You can participate in in-person sports, clubs, events, and school field trips directly at your Ednovate home-campus. These activities are optional.
