Dear Brave Students,
Congratulations on embarking on this virtual journey through high school. At Ednovate Virtual Academy (EVA) I want you to feel empowered, curious, and confident in accomplishing whatever you set your mind to. In this process, I commit to helping you find your voice and passions, feel safe enough to share those with our advisory community, and perhaps explore things that you may not have even considered. School can be a wonderful place to learn new things, and it's my job to make it as relevant to your life as possible. It is then your job to take ownership of your education, set your own goals and intentions on a weekly basis, and ensure that those goals ultimately build and lead you to where you want to go in life.
Each day, we will meet for at least 1 hour as a group where we can grow as a community as we delve into who we are as individuals, and discover our place in this world. In this space, we will practice kindness, positivity and teamwork, so we can work together to learn. We will also meet individually each week to ensure you are achieving your academic and personal goals, and of course to simply check in about what is going on in your life. In these meetings, we will make sure you are engaging in and mastering your courses, and point you in the right direction with study hall and other resources if you need extra support. In addition to your classes, we will also work together to make sure you are present in your courses, preparing for college, practicing self-regulation, and completing PMC hours and journeys to identify your life passions. Virtual learning can offer a lot of opportunities, so the goal is for you to develop independent skills that you can carry on with you into college and beyond. I am eager to learn more about you each week, and encouraging you to reach your full potential this school year!
