EVA is designed so students can shape their days in a way that works best for how they learn. That said, much like college or the workplace, there are some meetings that are essential and mandatory. See below for the details of our attendance policy.
Every day from 9:00-10:00 am (unless otherwise noted)
*3 or more unexcused absences per quarter results in a probation contract
Once a week as a minimum, more as needed.
*2 or more unexcused absences per quarter results in a probation contract
Students must attend the sessions when it is assigned by their teacher.
*3 or more unexcused absences per quarter results in a probation contract
Any mandatory session the student is 6 minutes or more late to. Students should message teachers right away of experiencing challenges logging on.
*Each tardy earns 1 reminder
*If a student is tardy twice in 1 week, they will earn a 2nd reminder.
Any school day that the student does not submit at least 1 work sample / assignment. Absences from in-person still count (unless students have a clean weeks contract).
*If a student earns 17 absences in one year, they are at risk of not graduating or promoting to the next grade and will have summer school.
*Excused absences still count towards this count of 17.
In the event of a legitimate absence, students may complete an alternative assignment given by the school admin. Absences must be documented with a valid reason (e.g., illness/medical reason, family emergency).
*Only 2 make-up assignments for advisory absences per quarter (unless a 504 plan is in place). Make-up assignments must be submitted on the same day before midnight.
